      About this trip

I'm going to start this with our video from the last time we went to see the Northern Lights:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHyOIQxWtsQ

Yup! That was US! 1000 Treks has a perfect record of seeing the Northern Lights. Every time we have gone, we have seen them. Sometimes every night. Why? Because we do it right. We go to the right locations, at the right time of year, at the right time of the month. And we always do it in a truly wondrous way with an amazing adventure.

Due to its location in the Aurora Oval, and clear weather conditions (very important), Fairbanks, Alaska is considered by many to be the single best place on the entire planet to see the Northern Lights. 2024 will be a year of high solar activity (close to solar maximum), and we picked our dates (October/beginning of November) so that we are most likely to have clear skies. To top it off, we'll be there during New Moon, when the sky is at its darkest, providing the best shows. We are all-but-guaranteed not only to see the Northern Lights several times, but also to have incredible spectacles.

As if that wasn't enough, we will do that as part of an action-packed, exhilarating and unique itinerary. This time we are doing our trip during fall in Alaska when it is not as cold. This will allow for different activities, and different experiences.

      HIGHLIGHTS:

      - Go on SEVEN Northern Lights outings to comfortable locations with cabins or yurts for us to keep warm while seeing the Aurora.

Patagonia was fabulous! The group was wonderful with no drama and lots of laughs. And the area is gorgeous.

What a memorable Thanksgiving in Bali! We snorkeled, went bike riding, visited temples and a local family's compound, and visited the Bali swings. The water palace was spectacular! 1000 Treks, Leigh & Eduardo always come through with unique, fun, affordable itineraries. Looking forward to my 5th trip with them - Australia!
